How many Tasmanian teachers are currently on Workers Compensation for work-related injuries?

Why doesn't the Education Department tell the truth and reveal the true figures?

Over 250 Tasmanian Education Department employees are currently on workers compensation for work related injuries... and they didn't get those injuries from slipping on a wet floor.

Tasmanian senior secondary teachers - stress and mental illness doubled in less than two years.

The number of Tasmanian senior secondary teachers suffering mental illness or stress has doubled in less than two years.

The rise has come since the troubled Tasmania Tomorrow changes came into effect in early 2009.

The number of teachers in the four Polytechnic colleges who have lodged workers compensation claims for mental illness or stress has risen from five to 10.

The Polytechnic is arguably the most troubled sector of the Tasmania Tomorrow revamp.

In June 2010 Education Minister Lin Thorp agreed to roll back the Tasmanian Tomorrow revamp.
